Director of Children & Youth

Hi, my name is Andrew Fleishman. I am an Arizona guy, born and raised, I am a graduate of Northern Arizona University where I obtained a bachelor's degree in PreMed/Microbiology.  It was in college that I became a follower of Jesus through the gentle guidance of the Holy Spirit and the student Christian fellowship group, Intervarsity.  I am ever grateful for God's pursuing love that moves in incredible and surprising ways!  After college graduation, I felt a nudging at my heart to serve God in the context of church ministry. I entered into this call with a deep passion for youth, young adults, and those on the periphery of the church, those uncomfortable or unfamiliar with (yet drawn to) Christianity. I began a two year internship with a ministry for the under-served youth of urban Phoenix and entered seminary to pursue, with reckless abandon, my education at Fuller Theological Seminary where I obtained my Master of Divinity graduate degree.

I have over 16 years experience in Christian ministry. Most recently I served as Director of Youth and Family Ministries in Kihei, Hawaii, and have also served churches in Goodyear, Arizona and Ballwin, Missouri.  Additionally, I managed a Christian camp for underprivileged children and youth where my family and I lived on-site in the rural desert of southern Arizona.  It is my great joy to serve in the Presbyterian Church (USA) again.  I look forward to one day completing the formal ordination process within the PC(USA) in order to serve God and God's people in a pastoral capacity.

My wife Dawn and I have been married since 2004. Dawn has a bachelor's degree in counseling and is also seminary trained, with an M.A. from Eden Seminary.  She is currently working on her second Masters Degree at Western Washington University in Rehabilitative Counseling.  She loves to help with the youth, children, and family ministries at WPC.  We have 3 wonderful kids Owen, Lila, and Jeanie, they are a wonderful handful!  :)

It is my great joy to serve and be in fellowship with all I am blessed to know and I am so grateful to be here at WPC as the Director of Family Ministries!

May the grace and peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all!
