Pastor

stephanie 3The Rev. Stephanie Hankey was called to pastor Westminster Presbyterian Church in July of 1996. Since her arrival, she has helped to lead the congregation through several transitions-adding additional worship services, increasing average Sunday attendance, emphasizing mission, building Discovery House, adding program staff, and remodeling Fellowship Hall. Preaching and teaching are among Stephanie's most appreciated gifts for ministry. She serves on Council for North Puget Sound Presbytery.

Born and raised in Newark, Delaware, Pastor Stephanie committed her life to Christ as a senior (1990) at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. After graduating she attended two years of graduate school in sociology at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to Juneau, Alaska to serve as a Mission Volunteer at a local soup kitchen and homeless shelter.

Stephanie is married to Chris, a forester for Washington State's Department of Natural Resources. They have two children, Eli and Rachel.

She is a 1996 graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Her favorite book of the Bible is Acts because she believes she is living Acts 29—the rest of the good news of Holy Spirit living in the world today.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working in the garden, cooking, and simple sewing projects.
