Special Seasonal Services

The Worship Committee plans the following special worship services each year:

  • Ash Wednesday Service—the first Wednesday in Lent; includes the imposition of ashes
  • Lenten Wednesday Evening Services—30 minute service held in Fellowship Hall each Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm in Lent; includes Scripture, singing, a message, and the Lord's Supper; a simple soup supper follows
  • Maundy Thursday Service—an opportunity to reflect on Jesus' final evening and supper with his disciples; includes the Lord's Supper and an optional footwashing
  • Good Friday Open Meditation—the Sanctuary is open from noon until 3 for those who would like to have a quiet place to meditate; a printed guide for prayer is available
  • Good Friday Service—an evening service that allows us to focus on the passion of Jesus
  • Easter Sunrise Service—takes place at Seafarer's Memorial Park early on Easter morning; we look East to greet the rising Son
  • All Saintsa worshipful opportunity to give thanks to God for those who have died in the faith
  • Meditative Advent/Christmas Service—a place to leave the hustle and bustle of the season and be at rest as we anticipate the coming of the Lord
  • Christmas Eve Services—two services are offered on Christmas Eve-one at 5:30 pm and one at 10:00 pm
